The Spanish saxophonist Daniel Juárez from Talavera de la Reina lives in Madrid (ESP) as a Jazz and Modern Music saxophonist, composer, poet and educator. Between 2014 and 2017 he studied at the Prins Claus Conservatorium (PCC) in Groningen, The Netherlands, to become a Master of Music, where I met him many times performing mostly with the Spanish quintet “The Machetazo”, featuring Jorge Castañeda (piano), Nacho Fernández de Frutos (guitar), Dario Guibert Montaña (double bass), Mikel Urretagoiena (drums) and Daniel Juárez (saxophone).
During his Master study at the PCC he recorded his second album in New York City “Neuronal Odd World” feat. artists like Alina Engibaryan (vocals), Álvaro del Valle Garrido (guitar), Jesús Caparrós (bass), Samvel Sarkisyan (drums) and Jorge Castañeda (piano), while doing an exchange program with the Queens College of Music. While he was touring for one week in The Netherlands end of April 2019, he performed with another trio feat. Andrea Caruso (double bass) and Quique Ramírez (drums), I had the chance to meet Daniel Juárez for an interview. Please enjoy our great and inspiring talk!
